Who We Are
For decades, KayVictor has envisioned and overseen the completion of an extensive portfolio of diverse commissions in planning, urban design and landscape architecture. We work across all scales from the big ideas of visionary master plans down to the minute details that bring built places to life. We are a hands-on team providing continuity of leadership and dedication of our talented staff in everything we do.
Our team lives and works in the San Francisco Bay Area, and we understand the intricacies of the region, from local culture to microclimates to business and political conditions. Leveraging the experience we’ve gained in California, in the vanguard of sustainable design and development, we’ve worked on significant projects in China, Latin America, and around the world. The firm works across all scales—from master plans for new towns to the details for urban plazas and private gardens. The vast majority of our commissions have been built and have evolved into successful places over time.
What We Do
We collaborate in our design studio in San Francisco and with other design and construction related professionals on large-scale master plans and urban design and landscape architecture projects. In the tradition of landscape architecture’s founders, we consider the natural landscape and systems as the starting place for design. We work directly and collaboratively with public and private sector leaders to bring visionary projects to life. We’ve developed long-term relationships with our clients and colleagues over the past three decades through our focus on creating successful built projects. We’ve also enjoyed the great privilege of developing multiple projects at different scales for many repeat clients.
We advocate for great urbanism and for the natural environment, and our dedication to both is reflected in the firm’s symbol, an urban grid overlaid on a gingko leaf. The firm brings together a high level of urban design with a deep understanding of natural systems and environmental conservation. We are committed to integrating the built environment in a dynamic and balanced way, while ensuring that the places we design are in tune with the context of the natural landscape of their sites and the region.
